“i am extraordinarily patient, provided i get my own way in the end.” -margaret thatcher
gotta love thatcher.
i truly had given up on my winter garden. i was sure the summer corn had sucked up all the nutrients from the soil. so i gave up and ignored it for a month and next thing i knew we had broccoli! cauliflower and cabbage! now lets just see if it grows past this miniature stage and i can cook some fabulous soups and gratins.

i’m falling in love with these intimate weddings i have had the luck to shoot a bunch of lately. katherine and paul’s was no exception. I love the unique opportunity tiny weddings present to photograph every guest.
katherine is a freelance journalist who has spent a good amount of time in the middle east writing for such agencies as the new york times, the international herald tribune and the new york times magazine and working with some of the best photojournalists in the world.
she was very clear she had very little interest in shots of her dress hanging, her shoes shot at 1.4, or even the rings. her day was about not about details, it was about the sacred commitment her and paul were making to eachother that gorgeous saturday and celebrating with family and friends. she and paul both have wonderful families. i was so honored to document these few hours. thank you katherine and paul for putting it all back into perspective for me.

The love is so evident in these photographs! It looked like an amazing day to have shared in..
We love your work, Jen–thank you so much again for making the time to shoot our wedding at such short notice! Paul and I have been looking through your beautiful photos and can’t stop talking about what a wonderful job you did. You drew everyone out so well–and this was a famously camera-shy crowd! Thank you so much again.
oh wow Rau. You did it again. Amazing! What artistic & beautiful shots!
