gennaro, 9 months

i had the supremely cool honor to shoot gennaro at 6 weeks, 6 months and now 9 months! it is fantastic to watch my littlest clients grow!

my philosophy on baby and kid portraits is just to them be themselves and to capture them as they are! i am a broken record always reminding parents to let go of the expectation of the perfect smile shot.

that all said, gennaro thinks my big black camera and big prime lenses are the best thing since cherrios! and as soon as i put the viewfinder to my eye he turns on! so my faves of his last shoot have more than their fair share of cute smiles!!!!! but this really is true gennaro. mom says as long as he is not hungry he is always smiling.

as i think back at our shoots, i realize that one day gennaro is going to see himself dressed up like an angel, sitting in a pot on the stove, laying in a casserole dish and now dressed up in a bear hat . . . smiling away and want to have a serious talk with his mom.

“hey jen whats up, thanks for bringing your awesome camera and 85 1.2 back to play!” seriously! this one kills me!
