grace and bryce, engagement, los angeles, ca
i think i might be an honorary trojan at this point. i have done sooooooo many usc weddings at this point that i can sing the songs and have the hand gestures down. only bryce is a trojan but usc was a great backdrop for grace and bryce’s shoot a few weeks ago. though we never made it tommy trojan, we found lots of good spots and had so much fun.

sarah and eric, engagement
dear sarah was fox’s babysitter for years! so it was my absolute pleasure to do an engagement shoot for these two lovebirds. it was an all day adventure at some of my favorite local spots. the only sour note of the day was that we had bribed eric with strawberry shortcake from his favorite lunch spot and sadly arrived to find the restaurant closed on mondays for lunch! i’ll definately have to have you two over and show off my kitchen skills ESPECIALLY in the area of dessert to make up for it.
regardless of our dessert disaster, eric and sarah brought so much of themselves to the shoot. it was one of those days where i felt lucky that my work felt so much like play. here are my faves.

Jen, I know I’ve told you this a billion times, but you are absolutely INCREDIBLE! Eric and I will treasure these pictures for the rest of our lives. And to think this is only the beginning. We are so thankful for you! Also, thanks for gettin down and dirty in the mud and weeds and for such a fun day! I feel so lucky
sylvia and dongmin engagement
i met sylvia and dongmin only a few weeks ago and i think i can safely say it was chemistry at first meeting! we just got eachother’s style and i knew we would be a great match! they had as many great ideas as i did for their downtown shoot and brought 100% of themselves to our shoot. sylvia and dongmin went over and above with their wonderfully styled outfits and props. lets not forget the fabulous yogi who brought his own game in these shots!
sylvia and dongmin are having two weddings, one here at my personal fave cafe pinot and the other in singapore. i am blogging a ton of faves here so sylvia’s family back home can feel apart of her L.A. festivities. they are flying home on saturday so i worked to get these up on the blog before i left for maui.
yogi is a sweetie BUT this image fully conveys his protectiveness. thanks yogi for letting me get closer to your peeps. i think we are friends now.

this whole shoot rocked my world but i think this is my very favorite.

dongmin! love this one!

there is something so sexy about this one! love!

another smoldering one!

another of my very top faves

this is good wind!

Jen… Oh my gosh!! i LOVE LOVE LOVE the pictures that you took.
The one in the apartment with Yogi.. that is so delightful. You are right about the dress on the roof top. I cant wait to see more of those on the rooftop and the ones by the gate. SWooooooonnnn. Enjoy your trip to Maui. Fox looks great too.. on the roof! Totally a rockstar!
Those roof shots are awesome!!! I have been trying to figure out how to get on a roof for a LONG TIME. How did you manage it? DId you get chased off by security? It’s always my worst fear, I am always getting yelled at by SOMEONE!
caroline and sam engagement
caroline and sam are getting married at the beach club in october. caroline scheduled an impromptu engagement session a few weeks ago and i was so excited to finally get to meet sam. their big day will be filled with sand and sea so we decided to do some street shooting for the engagement. we had a lot of fun roaming the streets and canals of venice and got some great stuff.

Great shots, Jen! So excited to see them all!
alex and eric, engagement
alex and eric and i had so much fun shooting this on sunday! they went over and above with great ideas for outfits, outfit changes and most important great chemistry and open hearts.
we did a lot of driving around and walking but from start to finish, we worked for 3.5 hours! they had this great idea for thank you cards that is top secret so i can’t show you here and ruin it for all of their guests BUT i have to give eric major props for carrying a very heavy load all over LA! i love these. i hope you do.

i spied this randomly and thought it was so cute and novel! and as luck would have it penguins have special significance for them. if i had to name this, i’d have to call it “happy feet”. any guesses on why this is here? cause i am at a loss?

christina and josh engagement
dinner before our session revealed some very cool similarities between christina, josh and i. christina and i have already traded secret recipes and between cooks, thats a special bond
needless to say they are a super fun couple and i love them. they were so willing to a. get wet running from the rising tide b. totally change our shoot location to do deal with the disasterly high tide c. stand on a picnic table d. bravely watch me get attacked by a swarm of gnats for the perfect angle and e. bravely wait for these images after i showed them a horribly out of focus polaroid that probably made me look like i had no idea what i was doing! (to my credit, the rangefinder was completely off and that shot proved it and its all better now
all i had to be willing to do was accept my first breast self exam door hanger from a client! i get gifts okay but that was first. the moment was funny but i have sooooooooo much respect for josh being behind such an important cause and yes, its hanging on my bathroom door.

check out the moon!!!!!!!

jill and walter, e – session
so jill and walter had this awesome idea to base their shoot around this vintage porsche speedster. i had never done anything like this for an engagement so it was really fun.

greg and anna e-session, santa monica, ca
there is something extra special about shooting for friends and colleagues . . . greg is the other chef at dukes malibu, but we are all friends as well.
the four of us spend eric’s birthday together a little while back and i’ve had a few chances to hang out with anna since they have been dating.
i try to get to know all my clients, but when you already know them, you have a little inside edge that makes the photos that much more personal.
i’m so excited for these two to get married. this is what we got last week. oh and in case you are wondering, the freaky cool cat is louie, greg’s sphinx.

jennifer and michael, e-session, oxnard, ca
i first met jen when i was still teaching yoga. i don’t think she even knew i was a photographer. later that year i shot jake and jenny’s wedding, and this jen (this could get confusing) was at the wedding with michael. thanks in part to happy clients jake and jenny, jen and michael booked me for their own wedding later this year at firestone vineyard in santa barbara. i love referrals, it somehow takes less to know someone when you know their friends. jen and michael were super nervous about their e-session, but they, and the puppies, did a great job!

Hey Jen
Awesome couple – I love that shot where they’re jumping with the sun behind them. Can’t wait to be shooting with you!
katrina and blake, e-session
congrats to katrina and blake! katrina is actually one of fox’s babysitters and sweet blake (who i had never met until yesterday) cooked up this very involved proposal coverup whereby katrina and her friend sarah was supposed to be babysitting for me at disneyland while i shot a 2 hour wedding! i had to send fake emails and everything. oh and then katrina couldn’t make it to her own proposal because she was already babysitting . . . blake handled it all and proposed to her at club 33 at disneyland. any guy who goes to that much trouble to propose to his future wife is a winner in my book. and yes, my own eric went to a lot of trouble too
blake and katrina will be graduating from pepperdine this april and with me as an alum, it felt perfect to shoot in malibu. we started at cross creek, headed up onto campus, and then to the beach. it was soooooooo fun! katrina was actually nervous so we had to play “americas next top model”, i got to be tyra and katrina had to work it out! she did . . .
this is a ridiculous amount of favorites, sorry.

okay these too can really jump, in heels katrina! you are talented!

jen, absolutely love the preview of our pictures! my fav is the rose garden one. thanks again for such a fun shoot and i can’t wait to see the rest of your work! thank you…thank you…. =)
