“i am extraordinarily patient, provided i get my own way in the end.” -margaret thatcher
gotta love thatcher.
i truly had given up on my winter garden. i was sure the summer corn had sucked up all the nutrients from the soil. so i gave up and ignored it for a month and next thing i knew we had broccoli! cauliflower and cabbage! now lets just see if it grows past this miniature stage and i can cook some fabulous soups and gratins.

That looks yummy. Isn’t it funny, just when you give up on gardens they always surprise you!
5 hour smoked and slow roasted carolina pulled pork, corn and grits au gratin with bacon and onion rings, romaine wedge salad with blue cheese , and brown sugar caramel souffle . . .
not as pretty as fox’s awesome holiday images but sooo delish had to blog this fabulousness. email for recipes. the corn and grits au gratin was out of this world.

here is my famous apple oatmeal walnut crisp with vanilla ice cream and caramel.

pretzel recipe please!
happy thanksgiving
i recently gave up on my way too infrequently updated food blog. so i’ll be posting my photo worthy kitchen accomplishments here. our family gave up on a home cooked thanksgiving years ago when i offered to do it and then got so behind in my editing that cooking it was going to send me over the edge. we went out that year and had the best time. besides the fact that my family is super traditional and if were in charge things would get way too creative. so, we go out.
i love eating the traditional stuff just hate wasting my time cooking it. i however, must have self made homemade dessert. chocolate pecan pie though is my favorite! and totally worth the very little time it takes. one of my very few super non gourmet recipes. nothing fancy here but so good. email me if you want the recipe.
